Post Revenge of the Sith: Death of Vader's Dark Angel

Society would call you an informant, a rat, a snitch. I call you unworthy of the body you possess; of the life you have been given… - Saw II

The departure from the ship was fairly uncomplicated. After Saché completed the pact sworn between Soren and herself the Stormtroopers overrode the doors security to find the bloodied security officer holding a still warm laser pistol in her hands and a lifeless Captain at her feet.
Saché departed quickly from the scene though not for reasons of safety as the ship was on irreversible self-destruct. She knew there were still some things that needed to be done before she could join her love on the other side and she wasn’t about to falter in them. In silence she moved through the bustling halls that had exploded with people trying to regain control of the already lost ship but felt nothing. She could no longer register her surroundings or to the clone troopers who brushed past her. For with Soren's death, Saché had become one of the living dead.
As though in trance the former handmaiden approached her ship and climbed into the cockpit. Then activating it she soon charted her destination and departed back to the main star destroyer where she was stationed to subtly coincide with her real motives. Even as the star filled darkness lit up to the explosion of the dying Imperial ship Saché could find no joy. For the reflection of destruction that danced along the glass of her Tie fighter only served to remind her of the fact that she should have amongst the casualties. That Soren was now one of them because of her. It was only then that Saché finally succumbed to her emotions and wept for one she loved and now lost.
But news travels fast and though the ship could not be saved, Saché’s ‘apprehension’ and ‘termination’ of the traitorous Captain Typho reached the dark Lord’s attention. He wanted to personally congratulate her for her victory or so the vile creation that was Dormé claimed. The Imperial Empire called her a hero of the people; Saché called herself a failure.
Now not even 26 hours later the Security Lieutenant found herself once more in the presence of the Sith Lord known as Darth Vader. If the monster noticed the lack of awareness in former handmaiden it didn’t show.
The hiss hush of the his machine seemed to match the sluggish heartbeat that pounded like a chronometer in Saché’s lifeless form. She didn’t wince or even twitched as the Sith Lord approached. In reality she could barely even register his words.
“To have stared into the face of such a betrayal and not falter is a feat deserving of respect.
“I had my doubts about you, but you have done well, Captain Maberrie.”
Only now I find myself staring into the face of betrayal Saché’s subconscious seemed to echo; though no visible sign of this in either her features or in her thoughts. Her lips only moved now because they had to, because it was necessary. The ruse had to be kept for now, but with each beat of her heart time ticked onwards and Saché was reminded that it wouldn’t be long and for that she was grateful.
“Thank-you Milord.”
She stated simply as required of her. The Sith Lord said nothing further but nodded in reply before quietly leaving the war room so that once more Saché was left alone with only her morose thoughts to keep her company.
That was two standard days ago and it was had been even longer since she had properly eaten or slept. She was already dead, all that was left now was for her shell to give up its breath and this too couldn’t come soon enough.
Even so there were still matters to tend to and as such Saché forced herself onwards, not for her own sake but for the sake of the ones she truly served. It was to be her be last gift to them and she wanted to make sure everything was in perfect order.
Finally after three long and painful days since Soren’s death Saché finally received word from Sabé’s contact. Her dear friend was expecting her arrival and would be ready to receive her in due time. Unfortunately for Saché it would be at least two more days before she would be able to depart so the contact would be able to properly meet her at the rendezvous points. She forced herself to remain calm and spent most of her remaining time completing any and all preparations needed.
When the moment finally arrived Saché was more than ready. Gingerly she grabbed her two throwing daggers, now sharpened from hours of being put to a swords stone and studied them briefly. Though they were a gift from a past never to be forgotten and were last used years ago they still carried the same poignancy for her as they did when she first received them from Tamé, her trainer. It would be the last time she used them she knew and with it came thoughts of peace as she quietly hid them in the uniform she had always despised before departing from her chambers and began the hunt for her prey.
Dormé quietly entered Darth Vader’s private chambers unaware of the watchful eyes studying her from a distance. Her presence here was less personal than the last time she visited this place, for the Sith Lord was still away completing his master’s mission on Kessel. But Dormé had collected some rather important information that she felt he would need in the future pertaining to double agents who posed as Empire commanders but in reality were members of the Rebel Alliance. She didn’t want it to fall into the wrong hands especially after what happened to Captain Typho and so this seemed the most secure of places.
However this fact went unnoticed by the one who watched her closely; for all Saché saw was a simple action that spoke volumes. The fact Dormé even had access to Lord Vader’s private chambers was tell-tale enough and with it came a change of plans. Approaching the albeit temporary though still highly secure chamber doors Saché instantly decided against overriding the security codes. For the amount of time it would take to undo the programming was both complicated and time consuming; for Lord Vader was quite skilled with such technology. So Saché instead decided to wait for Dormé to depart. As it were she needed as much time for her escape and knew any evidence of tampering of security overrides would only cost her precious minutes. Minutes she knew ultimately she had little of for the Sith Lord would be returning shortly as already preparations were being made for his arrival.
So patiently waiting for a few moments longer Saché was finally rewarded with the parting of the door in front of her. Time seemed to move to move of its own accord for the Alliance Rebel who now found herself briefly staring at a startled and confused Dormé. A strange smile crept into her features and like a Vornskr Saché pounced moving quickly as she forced Dormé to step back into Darth Vader’s private chambers.
“Saché!? What is the meaning of this?”
Dormé's voice echoed in her mind but Saché didn’t quite register it. Instead she crossed her arms clutching the material just below her elbows before swiftly removing the hidden daggers from beneath the uniform’s coat. As she did so Saché didn’t pause in her footsteps so that soon she had forced Dormé’s back against a wall.
Her former protégé eyes widened slightly to her small but elegant blades and for but a brief moment the fear was evident. However even this brought no pleasure to Saché whose strangely haunting expression didn’t falter. Even in this state of mind the Alliance Rebel had to commend Vader’s dark angel for remaining cool under fire. But then she was hardly surprised by it either, after all she was the one who taught her this skill.
“Do you think by killing me you will be able to hide the fact that you are as much a traitor as the Captain was?”
Dormé said smoothly as the smug smile crept into her features. Saché said nothing and Dormé took it as a sign of shock which only caused her smile to widen.
“You didn’t think I’d ever find out did you? You and you’re pathetic little cover up pretending to be loyal to the Empire by killing the Captain when he was already good as dead.
“I don’t know what you hope to accomplish by doing this, but when he learns of it you can be certain he will stop at nothing until your blood is on his lightsaber and your lifeless corpse at his feet.”
Saché eyes seemed to dance with a strange fire as her cryptic smile turned into an amused grin, which once more caused another flicker of concern to cross the former handmaiden’s features. The threats and warnings were just so absurd to Saché who wanted nothing more than death, as it meant she would return to Soren. So upon hearing Dormé’s words she couldn’t resist laughing softly as she spoke.
“Dormé you foolish girl…”
Saché began as she finally closed the space between them leaving Dormé no room for a possible escape. The dagger that rested in her right hand was now placed precariously close to the younger woman’s throat, while the other dagger rested dangerously near her left eye. The fear now was evident in Dormé’s hitched breath and the slight wavering of her dark eyes. But had Saché not been trained to observe such subtleties she wouldn’t have seen it for what it really was.
“When Lord Vader returns it won’t matter anymore. You will already be dead and I will be shortly there after.”
Saché didn’t pause, though the amused mannerisms she exhibited shifted to an eerie calm as all the while the eerie smile lingered.
“That’s the beautiful thing about justice; in the end you always get what you deserve.”
These were the last words Dormé would ever hear just as Saché’s eerie smile would be the last image she saw before entering the afterlife.
Saché eyes then flashed in righteous fury as the dagger in her left hand slammed through Dormé’s left eye with such force, that it pierced through her skull pinning her to the wall leaving her body to convulse violently in reaction. At the same time the right handed dagger slit her throat from ear to ear causing blood to flow freely like rivers of red down her dark gown, before collecting at her feet in a pool of crimson. Even the normally sterile walls were now witness to this violent form of justice as the blood from her blades splattered against it as she withdrew the dagger away from Dormé’s slit throat and lodged firmly into the flesh of the traitor’s right hip in the approximate location of her maiden’s brand of loyalty.
Having completed the first part of her final mission Saché quietly turned to walk away as she had no interest in remaining here to observe or admire her macabre handiwork. Not caring of the blood that covered her face and uniform she stepped outside of the Dark Lord’s chambers and headed to the Executor’s hanger bay. Yet in her despair Saché had unintentionally missed one fatal detail and little did she realize that while Dormé’s death was one small victory, an even greater defeat awaited the fledgling Alliance. For resting on a table in the Dark Lords chambers sat a data padd that contained a series of names of Alliance Rebels who even now posed as members of the Imperial Army and Empire.
But now all that mattered to Saché was that she had to leave and quickly. While no one in their right mind would question Lord Vader’s security Captain despite her bloodied appearance, questions would soon be asked and details would soon be discovered. However her life was no longer important to her, neither was her freedom all that truly mattered now was the data chips she now carried hidden within her uniform pockets. For in them contained information that was worth entire planets to her allies. She would ensure they reached good hands and then it would be time to return home.
Saché knew just who to leave it with and the thought brought a hint of a smile to her features. It had been too long since she had seen her dear friend and Saché had no doubt in her mind it would be the last time she would see her before entering the realms of harmony.
With this thought in mind she entered her ship and quietly departed for the Outer Rim feeling both relieved and almost eager to know she was one step closer to returning to Soren.
