Post Attack of the Clones: The Negotiator and the Spy

She always loved having the opportunity to travel and serve abroad. Somehow being on the move always made Sabe feel as though she was in her own way on the front lines. With the rest of her security crew and team on Corascant she knew she held a great deal of responsibility and duty on her shoulders. Even if her role was small in the big scheme of things she knew without question that she had to ensure that everything ran sthly and accordingly despite the lack of perks related to having her desk down the hall. Much of her work here depended on quick thinking, a watchful eye and the ability to trust one's instincts.

In this case she was playing the role of duelity once more. For all appearances she was but the invisible handmaiden that along with Sache and Dorme would be keeping watch of Senator Amidala. Whom at this time was asked to represent the senate and the republic during the awkward and sometimes tense negotiations on this small outer rim world.

But beyond this she is to also pose as a blackmarket merchant looking to buy a rather illegal and hard to find map of one of the outer rim worlds. One that would prove most useful in the battles ahead. And it is under this guise that Sabe finds herself roaming the bustling streets of this small but highly volatile colony.

It was not long after Master Yoda's insistence he be on leave that Obi-Wan Kenobi was thrown back into the fray. His first major mission was in the Taldot sector on the planet of Balamak, which was a major food production world. He led a task force against the Confederacy of Independent Systems flotilla though it was his padawan who shot the deadly missile which disrupted the Trade Federation's Droid Control ship.

Having contained the situation, he was then sent to Delari Prime in the Corva Sector to attend to negotiations there. Political talks and peaceful resolutions were much more up to Obi-Wan's liking than space battles, though he could tell Anakin would much rather be flying.

Not all of the political parties were keen on having any Jedi involved, mainly out of fear, for there were superstitious species that believed all Jedi were manipulative and self-serving.

At one of the breaks, Anakin let out an audible exhale and Obi-Wan readily assessed the boy was tired and bored. He suggested he go back to their quarters to meditate and perhaps, if he had the mind, fix the atmosphere controls. Upon arrival this morning, they had found their rooms to be sweltering, almost tropical and it hadn't been pleasant.

Anakin nodded and headed to their rooms.

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan decided to get some fresh air and meandered through the busy streets, clearing his head of the intense debates.

The air was stifling making Sabe wish she hadn't chosen to wear such an overbearing cloak. But it was a common outfit for these parts though she couldn't exactly understand why given the atmosphere. Either way she knew she had to blend in and so she did her best to appear as non assuming as she could.

Quietly she moves through the throngs of crowds inwardly smiling to herself. Had it not been so warm out she might have enjoyed this little jaunt for it was the perfect break or as Sache joked the perfect escape from the meetings that were due to begin later that day. It was generally known or rather purposely given that Amidala travelled with two handmaidens. Leaving room for the third in this case Sabe to roam freely and act as Padme's eyes and ears.

But this particular day was definatly more trying then she hoped and she was shamefully relieved to be able to get some 'fresh' air. The whole concept of politics and politicians while appealing to her friend left Sabe both out of place and eager to leave. With the exception of Padme, the handmaiden never trusted politicians, found them too corrupt or always looking to bend the rules to suit their needs.

Burying down the thought she soon is greeted by the 'business' man and the ruse begins again. After much bartering, a couple of hidden and veiled threats from both parties should the other try to back down or double-cross the other Sabe finally had the precious map in hand and was quietly returning back to the elegant and cooler quarters of her former Queen.

However as she wanders throught the streets she feels a familar hum in the back of her thoughts and hesistates her eyes darting through the crowds as she looks for the location or rather the person behind the familarity. A hopeful smile plays on her features as the former decoy feels her heart race at the possibility. She knew the Jedi were often stationed as negotiators of the peace to the warring outer rim colonies and worlds but what were the odds that he of all people would be here?

The thought causes her to turn cautious. For where there was Obi-Wan without question there was his agitating Padawan. As if fate would ever be so kind to let him be alone without his annoying 'brother' trailing with him. The thoughts soon forces her thoughts to turn calm. Anakin was for all intents and purposes as close to a brother that Obi-Wan could have as a Jedi. She promised she would respect this title and she wasn't about to back down on it. So taking a deep breath she centers herself once more in preparation. However as her eyes settle on the familar cloaked form ahead she realizes to her overwhelming joy he is alone. But it is short lived as she can't help but feel a pang of guilt, the senator would be dissappointed to know Anakin wasn't near and she shouldn't feel so happy for it. Then again it wasn't like they could really spend any time together they were after all going to depart for another colony before the night was through. Such was the busy life of the politician.

But time was on her side now and Sabe wasn't about to ruin this potential moment. So using her training in stealth she quietly blends into the crowds as she moves closer to her 'prey' already imagining the look of shock on his face upon learning who his stalker is and unable to resist a giggle at the thought.

Obi-Wan moved through the crowd at a leisurely pace, casting fleeting glances at the various markets and people selling goods. He preferred his feet to speeders and space travel. It was probably best Anakin wasn't with him. He would either be complaining or running off.

It was also a good thing he decided against bringing his cloak as it was stifling amongst the bustling crowds, moving back and forth in an organised chaos.

A familiar hum came to him, but he lost concentration a decrepit old lady pulled him to her table of goods. He declined her offer of something she was selling. He honestly didn't know what it was nor what it was for.

Moving back into the crowd, there was that hum. Was it--but he didn't think Senator Amidala would attend to matters in this Outer Rim terrotory certainly...but then the hum grew in intensity.

She follows him carefully using all fo her skills as best she can to near the Jedi enough to pull her trick. To her surprise she had managed to get rather close without him even noticing. Which either meant she was alot better then she thought or he was distracted. However as he declined a merchants attempt to sell her wares she realized he was only distracted nothing more. But as he continued his way she could feel him growing curious or guarded and she knew she had to act quickly as he must have felt the familar hum of her presence as he felt hers.

Then without hesitance she deftly moves to her left and a little forward permitting him to almost move past her that is until she pounces swiftly attempts to slip her hands over his mouth while grasping his arm and pulling him into the side street nearby. It was something she remembers Padme telling her she did once to Anakin and to her immense surprise and amusement it worked like a charm.

Heres to hoping my little prank goes just as well she thinks with a wry smile.

In a split second, Obi-Wan found himself being...abducted??...by someone--How could--

He didn't see his attacker, but swiftly used the Force to escape their grasp simultaneously drawing his lightsaber with his free hand. A flick of a switch later and it hummed to life, but he did not make a violent move against his opponent.

Obi-Wan switched it off and hooked it back onto his belt. With an exhale, he addressed his atacker, whose Force signature he was extremely attuned to. 'Sabé, what in the blazes--'

He slips through her fingers as though they were made of water and instantly she steps back expectant of the reaction given though a little startled he would draw his blade in such an open place. But almost instantly it is sheathed once more and Sabe can't help but grin from ear to ear at his evident surprise.

"Good to see you too Master Kenobi.

I can't believe I almost fooled you. Thats quite a feat in and of itself. I guess I'm better at this then I thought"

She teases putting on a fake proud air, her eyes sparkling in happy joy at the sight of him.

He couldn't help a chuckle at her remark. 'I would say your tracking skills are superior to that of your fellow handmaidens.'

She had a right to be proud of her achievements and wanted her to know so. Indeed, you make a fine addition to the Nabooan security forces.'

Her smile brought a wave of warmth over him that was so soothing, he couldn't get enough of it. Obi-Wan did, however, take in her attire, noting that it wasn't normal handmaiden gear though the cloak did its best at concealing it. 'What are you doing here?'

She blushes to his compliment and bows slightly in reply.

"Thank you but I'm not sure if you'd think that way upon seeing Sache in action. She is by far the superior one in such matters. I swear she knows how to make herself invisible at times!"

She says with a grin before feeling her cheeks warm further as she can feel his eyes studying her for a moment. Feeling concious of herself she bites her lip and glances away inwardly feeling less then beautiful in the rather unelegant and more practical outfit.
His question however buys her a chance to explain herself and Sabe offers him a another grin.

"Just working on a side project as Captain Typho would say. Although if my sources are correct then it would seem our chance meeting has just spared me the middle man."

With that she subtlity slips the map into his hand as she offers him a nuetral look.

"I think you will find this most useful in the near future. I've already studied it and it does prove to be accurate for all intents and purposes."

He continued looking her over curiously, wondering just what sort of side project she could be working on.

She seemed shy at first, probably, he assumed because of his compliment. But it was the truth and he had wanted her to know.

Then it seemed all the shyness disappeared when she slinked closer to place a device in his hand. Without taking a look at it or acknowledging it, he slipped the map into a pocket.

'Thank you,' Obi-Wan automatically replied, though still unsure of its contents. He was about to ask what exactly this was for, but decided at her use of stealth it was best left for him to discover later on.

He stole a glance at the busy street and the various species passing by not bothering a look down where they were standing. Obi-Wan turned back to her, still marvelling that she'd had the courage to catch him off guard like that.

He continues to study her and Sabe shifts slightly under his gaze before moving to offer the item in question. Though he is careful to accept the map his expression nuetral she can almost feel his curiousity. Offering him a reassuring smile Sabe quietly remarks.

"Its something I believe your compatriots were seeking but had no luck locating."

She offers a wry grin as she adds in a soft but teasing tone.

"Being "non-sensitive" to the force does have it's advantages from time to time."

She remarks knowing how touchy this particular culture was to the Jedi and their skills. But at his glance to the crowds her eyes soon are drawn to the crowd as well as she wonders what it is or whom he is looking. Then as if by answer she catches sight of a well hidden form that would have easily been missed had she not had the subtle warning of his guarded signature.

"...Damn"

She whispers for the moment forgetting for a moment of Obi-Wan's presence before noting his gaze falling on her once more as she turns crimson. She did promise to leave her agitation towards his padawan out of their brief moments shared, but instincts had briefly took control for a moment but soon she is calm once more.

'Then we are grateful for your efforts,' he replied, hoping she hadn't put herself in danger in order to acquire it.

At the very moment she cursed, he also felt Anakin's Force signature. 'He must be bored,' Obi-Wan surmised more to himself than to her.

'I should probably be getting back before the next session starts. Are you headed that way? If you are, I'd be oblidged to escort you there.' He looked at her hopefully, though it was more likely they would have to go their separate ways once more.

Two paths, side by side, yet rarely crossing...

She bows slightly to his words her expression softening at his words as she gives him a kind smile.

"It is who should be grateful, it is an honor to be able to help you and your Order in your quest for peace."

Catching Obi-wan's remarks she sighs deeply resisting the urge to mutter under her breath - won't be for long, the minute he registers his wife is here. Refraining she nods politely at his words she furrows her brow. Would it be such a good idea? Torn between her desire to prolong this rare moment with Obi-Wan and having to put up with Anakin leaves Sabe in a bit of a quandry.

Anakin now is within view and definatly seems to be carrying the expression that Obi-Wan had surmised as bored. Oh great here comes trouble himself. Knowing now that it is too late to slip away and hide her presence from the Padawan she offers the Jedi Master a kind smile.

"I would like that, that is if it isn't any trouble."

She casts another quick glance to Anakin who nears his eyes now a mixture of distrust at the sight of her and eager joy at the realization what her presence really meant.

Quietly she adds under her breathe but loud enough for him to hear as her expression is too serious for her attempt to joke to remain that way.

"I promise I will be on my best behavior."

Obi-Wan wasn't sure what she meant by 'best behaviour' and surmised she was referring to how she disapproved of his marriage to Senator Amidala.

Before Anakin spotted him, Obi-Wan bent closer, whispering in her ear, 'Next time you want to abduct someone, I'll gladly volunteer.' He pulled back to smile and give her a wink which Anakin failed to see as he wandered over to them.

'Master,' he said, then bowed slightly to Sabé saying, 'My lady.'

'Were you able to fix the atmosphere controls?' Obi-Wan asked his padawan as he escorted Sabé to the bustling street.

'They moved us to a new room,' Anakin replied, rolling his eyes. 'It's not any better, but they said it's the weather and there's nothing they can do.'

'Well then, we will manage,' Obi-Wan said, casting a brief glance at Sabé.

Anakin's thoughts drifted to Padmé, thinking he just might be able to run into her later on today. He didn't notice his master's hand resting lightly on the small of his wife's handmaiden's lower back.

His soft whisper causes a smile to crosses her features as she glances back to him laughing softly catching his wink and feeling her cheeks warm to it.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind."

She quietly whispers back before turning serious once more, as the Padawan approachs. To his greeting she politely bows slightly in reply before going silent as Obi-Wan asks about the atmosphere controls. Another thought occured to her and furrowing a brow she debates remarking upon it. After all their visit had been cut short by the request for Amidala to attend another meeting later that night at another colony leaving them an extra day of the rooms services with no one to use it.

Her eyes drift to Obi-Wans as she makes brief eye contact for the moment ignoring Anakin's sigh though promptly noting by his expression his thoughts are long since moved elsewhere.

To Padme no doubt she inwardly surmises darkly not impressed by his ruse of being the ever loyal Padawan to the Order. But the thought soon shatters into confusion and then guilt as she feels Obi-Wan's hand rest lightly against the small of her back. She shouldn't feel so happy or lightheaded by his touch and yet try as she may she can't seem to clear her thoughts or slow her racing heart when he is near.

Glancing to Anakin she is inwardly relieved to see the padawan's mind is still elsewhere as he has a strange hopeful smile to his features reminding her thatin truth she isn't much better in this moment. But unlike him you chose not to act upon it and thus maintain your loyalties to duty just as Obi-Wan did. The thought reassures her enough to cause her to calm as she glances back to Obi-Wan before politely remarking.

"We are to leave this evening for attend a meeting in one of the nearby colonies here. It was on short notice that we recieved this message and so our room is still booked till tomorrow night. Perhaps you both would prefer to take lodgings there instead? It's nothing outstanding, certainly not by most politician's standards but at leat the atmosphere controls are more effective."

She offers knowing that Padme certainly wouldn't mind, especially if it meant she could steal a few minutes away with Anakin.

Anakin's eyes danced with hopeful excitement. 'I'm sure the manager I spoke with wouldn't take offense, Master.'

Obi-Wan knew well enough where Anakin's thoughts were, but suffice it to say, if given the choice, he would much rather sleep in quarters that weren't sweltering. 'If arrangements can be made without hindering the senator's obligations, it would be an offer we couldn't refuse.'

Anakin's heart beat faster. If even just for a moment, he would be able to see Padmé...

'Be mindful of your thoughts Anakin,' Obi-Wan instructed. 'We have an important meeting this afternoon and it won't do to have your shields down in front of the bureaucrats. You know how much disdain some of them have for the Jedi.'

Anakin frowned, glancing at the ground as they headed indoors. 'Yes, Master.'

She nods slightly and bows in reply.

"It is an honor to help our allies in any way we can."

She says knowing without question now that Padme will be thrilled at the prospect of seeing Anakin and yet dissipointed to be departing so soon. For once Sabe found herself rather dreading to leave this overly warm planet herself though for simular and yet very different reasons then the Senator had.

Catching Obi-Wan's words to Anakin she instantly grows mindful fo her own feeling her cheeks flush slightly. But at his words Sabe can't help but feel a small pang of guilt. At one time she like the bureaucrats here held disdain for the Jedi. But then ignorance does breed such thought she reminds herself.

"I'm sure your presence in the end will help allievate the fears of the leaders. After all most only feel this way because they are not familar with the Order in general."

Sabe says politely trying to be understanding of both sides to this situation.

'Thank you. I hope you are right,' he said.

Obi-Wan appreciated her words, expecting Anakin to listen as well, but his padawan was not paying attention.

'Master, may I--'

'No,' Obi-Wan said firmly. 'We are expected in the presidential suite.'

'Not for another ten minutes,' Anakin observed.

'No, Anakin. Perhaps afterwards.'

'But she might be gone by then!'

'No and that's my final word.' Obi-Wan stood his ground. The information Sabé had slipped him was to be reported and he didn't have the time to deal with Anakin's wanderings, especially where Padmé was concerned. Five minutes would turn into fifty and he wouldn't notice. To be late would look very unprofessional. They were looked down upon already as it was.

Obi-Wan was slightly embarrassed that his padawan was behaving like this in front of Sabé. He shot him a look that warned him not to take this any further before addressing Sabé once more. 'We would be indebted to you if your mistress was able to provide us with accomodations this evening. Lady Sabé, as always, it was a pleasure running into you.'

His tone was polite and formal, though he aimed to slip a few subtle feelings to her as he spoke. He bowed slightly and the two Jedi went about their business.

She raises a brow at Anakin's intruption but says nothing already knowing what is on Anakin's mind and knowing without question she is definately going to be hearing something very simular only in a far less obvious manner. Suddenly she wonders if this was such a good idea after all. At least Obi-Wan could keep some semblance of control over Anakin. Padme on the other hand...

She notices Obi-Wan's slight embaressment and offers him a silent but reassuring smile as if to say 'I know the feeling' before politely bowing to his words noting the subtlities in them as her eyes sparkle in reply.

"The pleasure is mine."

Then without another word she too parts way to inform the Captain she had collected the information needed and had already placed it secure hands. Only after that would she then relay to the Senator of Anakin's presence knowing fully well there would be no time for a brief encounter between the Padawan and her former Queen. Less chance of her playing the dissappearing act that way she inwardly surmises wondering how Obi-Wan has such patience.

The meeting was called abruptly short as one of the ambassadors fell violently ill, blaming it on a member of another party. Violent threats and arguments erupted as a result and the leader overseeing the event decided it was in everyone's best interest to postpone the discussions until another time, which meant either in front of the senate or never.

'Another successful diplomatic missions,' remarked Anakin as they exited the chamber.

'Things could have gone better,' Obi-Wan agreed, running a hand through his hair. 'One thing's for sure, I'm never trying the Orcidavian meatloaf.'

Anakin chuckled at that as the two of them went to their shared quarters to gather what few things they had brought with them. 'At least we won't have to sleep in this sauna.'

After grabbing their belongings, they headed for the Nabooan senator's quarters. Her floor was significantly cooler than the one they'd just left which was an incredibly good sign.

Dormé answered the door, giving Anakin a sincere smile as she told him where to find his wife.

Anakin shot his master a pleading look.

'Yes, it's fine, just don't be long. We have things to go over for tomorrow's events.'

Anakin's eyes lit up. 'Thank you, Master!' He dropped his bag and went to go after Padmé.

Sabe inwardly sighs to herself as she sends a brief message to Sache who is currently completing the final preparations on their ship for their departure. So far everything was going according to plan although she didn't like the tight schedule between meetings, it just left such little time for the unexpected. But so far everything is running sthly and as she ends the communications Sabe heads off into the next room to inform Padme of the final details in question.

However the Senator is no where to be found and it instantly leaves Sabe concerned. Great where is she now? Sabe mutters under breath knowing that she shouldn't be surprised by this yet it annoys her all the same. She couldn't stand it when Padme pulled what she had come to call the 'disappearing' act. She should have known it would come to this, after all throughout the meeting the Senator was obviously distracted though she covered it well. Nevermind the constant subtle remarks pertaining about how she hoped she would have time to see the Jedi arriving before they departed and fearing if the meeting ran late she wouldn't have time to leave them the codes for the quarters.

Jedi of course meant Anakin and the codes meant kisses good-bye. Sabe rolled her eyes at the thought as she promptly moves between the rooms and the hall of the massive quarters before running into Dorme as she does so.

"Have you seen the Senator? We're due to depart in fifteen minutes and she is no where to be found."

She half states half asks before she notices Obi-Wan, bags by his side and lack of Padawan with him.

Nevermind I think i have a good idea now she inwardly grouses.

"The Senator had requested the audience of Padawan Skywalker in the hotel's terrace and so she is with him now."

She replies as Sabe gives her a stunned look.

"How long did she say she would be?"

Sabe wasn't surprised Padme choose to inform Dorme of this little plan as she knew Sabe was already aware of her tricks and would definatly chide her for them. Still it was irritating to hear of this change of plans via Dorme instead of the Senator herself.

"Not long only about five minutes or so she said."

Dorme replied with a smile before departing to collect her things leaving Sabe to throw a glance to Obi-Wan as she sighs rolling her eyes.

"Unbelievable. You do know what that means don't you?"

She shakes her head in mild frustration before blushing as she realizes she didn't even greet him. Bowing slightly she offers a sheepish and apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry where is my manners. It is good to see you again Jedi Kenobi."

She says careful to keep things professional because of Dorme's presence nearby.

"We're just on a very tight schedule so I am a bit tense. The last thing we need is to have to hunt those two down."

She glances around briefly before offering a kind smile.

"I hope you find the accomodations suitable. At least it's cooler and less humid then the outdoors anyways."

She says before motioning to the kitchen as she remarks quietly with a shrug.

"I found some of that tea you like during my travels. Its the same kind you had at the temple, you can find it on the counter that overlooks the living quarters. Figured you could use a bit a of a break."

She adds with a wry smile.

"Though at this rate I'm about due for one myself. I don't know how you have the patience."

She says motioning to the door as she is refering to Padme and Anakin's eager need to see each other.

"I'm about going mad myself and she isn't nearly as overwhelming."

She says with a soft laugh though her eyes belies her admiration at his patience and strength when dealing with his Padawan's trying personality.

When Sabé appeared, he felt a bit guilty for having let Anakin run after the senator. He should be a better mentor to Anakin.

Obi-Wan remained silent, watching the handmaidens moving about in an organised chaos.

Conscious of Dormé's presence as well, he said, 'It is good to see you as well, my lady,' he replied, bowing.

Her concern for her mistress's schedule and making sure everything was in order was admirable. He couldn't imagine having to remember all of the different things Sabé had to in order to keep things running sthly.

He thanked her for her consideration and was heartened at the thought she had brought with her the tea he liked. 'I apologise if my padawan's eagerness to see the senator has put a crimp in your schedule.'

As though picking up on his guilt she offers an apologetic smile at his greeting and his explanation.

"Hardly. Believe me she'd find him first if he hadn't found her first."

She sighs as she shakes her head torn between amused and annoyed as she laughs softly.

"I envy your patience. The senator isn't nearly as well blatant as your Padawan is on such matters but she's close enough it's about to drive me crazy!"

She remarks softly before adding in quiet tones so only he hears.

"I swear if I had to hear another 'If this meeting goes on any longer they won't be able to get the codes in time' muttered to me i'm going to scream."

She says with a wry grin.

"As if that little code of speach wasn't obvious enough for anyone to figure out."

She blushes slightly as he thanks her for the tea inwardly grateful to make his trip a little more comfortable in anyway she can as she bows slightly.

"The pleasure is mine."

'I'm not even going to extrapolate--' he said, referring to the senator's codes. That was one thing he did not want to imagine about his padawan.

Sabé's expression amused him though. And then he recognised that familiar blush in her cheeks. He vaguely thought if any other man saw her like this, they would no doubt fall madly in love with her. She was so humble, thoughtful, dedicated...

'Is there anything I can do to help?' he asked.

She shakes her head as she makes a face, but is obviously joking.

"No i think it's best you don't."

She beams before the blush in her cheeks matches the sheepish smile as she is unable to cast another glance at him before dissipearing into the next room to grab the last of their things and complete the packing.

Catching his question she emerges from the next room with a bag in hand as she raises a brow slightly before shaking her head.

"I thinks everything is pretty much under control. Feel free to make yourself at home."

She says as she motions to one of the plush chairs nearby before slipping into the kitchen as she begins to prepare some tea for him. Returning once more back into the room she begins to grab some items from the nearby table and place them into another bag as she glances back to him casually though her eyes linger on him a little longer then necessary as once more she puts his image to memory taking in every aspect of his features causing her expression to soften before she puts on her professional mask once more.

"So was my find at the marketplace as accurate as the merchant claimed it to be?"

She asks calmly noting Dorme's brief entrance before the younger handmaiden slips into another room to grab more items to pack.

Obi-Wan picked up their belongings and set them on an empty table, briefly glancing over to where Sabé reemerged.

At her suggestion, he went over to sit in one of the chairs which was oddly more comfortable than it looked. Appearances can be deceiving, he thought, though at first he didn't realise the extent of his conjecture.

She brought him a cup of tea and it's soothing warm vapours stimulated his senses. Now that he was in quarters that had a suitable atmosphere, the tea was a welcomed. It was truly a lovely gesture on her part, no matter what the atomosphere was like. He would have graciously accepted it even if they were on a desert sand dune.

'It's wonderful. Thank you,' he said, although Dormé was quite within hearing range. He wasn't sitting in a position to see her, not that there was nothing inappropriate in thanking her.

Offering him the tea she bows slightly at his words offering a kind smile though her expression promptly turns nuetral because of present company.

"You're most welcome."

But soon Dorme departs not paying either of them much heed with is a relief to Sabe who relaxes slightly. Casting him a polite smile once more she continues to pack as she asks about how the meeting turned out wanting to enjoy as much of his company as she can before she has to part ways with him once more.

Obi-Wan eyed Dormé as she exited through the doorway and found himself more relaxed once she had gone.

'It was an outright disaster,' he said in an exhale, leaning back into the chair. 'Not that we haven't had worse meetings, but this would be near the top of the All Time Worst. Hopefully things will be better in the morning.

'I am anxious to get back to Coruscant to share what you acquired on this trip,' he added. 'Tell me, do you have further plans of covert nature?' His eyes danced with intrigue.

She frowns at his words her expression turning concerned as he explains the results.

"Dare I ask what happened? I trust it wasn't so out of control that someone got hurt?"

She nods slightly at his further remarks pertaining to the map as she sighs deeply.

"I just hope it is what was needed. From what I could see it was accurate, but it's hard to tell from a few brief glances."

Her eyes sparkle in mischief at his final question as she resists the urge to make a remark about him volenteering to be an abductee. Instead she nods slightly turning a bit more serious as she finishes packing the last of the items that rest on the table.

"Too many to keep count of actually. It would seem part of the reason the Senator was given these series of meetings was out of duel purpose. She attends the open political confrontations while I slip through the cracks and do the subtle confrontations instead."

Glancing down the hall she hears Dorme now on the commchannel with Sache and furrows her brow already knowing what their conversation is about but for the moment trying to ignore it as she quietly adds.

"What about you? Where will your missions take you next?"

'Just an ambassador getting violently ill and blaming it on another party, no violence, just quite a bit of tongue-lashing.' He shrugged.

He took a sip of the calming herbal tea as she explained her newest duties. Obi-Wan was concerned for her safety, but knew she was perfectly able to handle herself in certain situations. She had been brought up and trained to do this. And it was comforting to know how well she could handle a blade as well as a blaster.

He caught her brief glance into the hallway and also took a look. 'I'm not sure,' he said, setting the mug back onto the table in front of him. 'Once I've reported back to the Council on tomorrow's events, I expect to return to Coruscant, but I won't count on it.'

Sabe winces as she catches his remarks.

"Oh dear...that mustn't have been fun to deal with. I won't lie to you I definately don't envy anyone who is in politics especially when it comes to matters of negotiations. I just lack the patience or the right mindset I admit."

As she explains her duties her own thoughts drift to the missions the Jedi knight was certain to be heading on soon enough. She knew without question he could hold his own but with the mysterious threat of the cyborg named General Grievious Sabe couldn't help but feel a chill. She hoped he would be okay that the Jedi's path would not cross the creatures path until the time was right and he would be certain to make it unscathed.

But it is his duty to face such dangers she inwardly reminds herself and with that thought she promptly buries her fears and turns her attentions back to him as he admits that he is most likely returning to Coruscant or heading elsewhere. She tries to hide her disappointment as best she can as she had hoped to learn if there was a slim chance their paths might cross once more over the next while.

"I suppose your missions change from day to day don't they?"

She remarks casually before Dorme approaches her expression looking a little frustrated and concerned.

"Forgive me for intrupting Sab,e but Sache wishes to speak to you and she's none to happy."

I wonder why. Sabe thinks dryly to herself before bowing to Obi-Wan as she excuses herself to answer the call. Upon entering the room her eyes promptly fall onto the time clock sitting on teh small desk as she inwardly curses. Technically Padme should have returned fifteen minutes ago. Even worse is the fact they should be on the ship now and they had no idea wher ethe Senator was.

"Sabe, please tell me you know where Lady Padme is?"

Sache states quietly obviously trying to appear more calm then she really is. Sabe frowns as she sighs deeply.

"I was told the hotel terrace but with her-."

Sache cuts her off promptly.

"Why in heaven's name is she there!? She's supposed to be on the ship by now! We're on a tight schedule as it is! This is so irresponsible that it's not even funny!"

Sabe nods in agreement.

"You don't think I don't already know this? I'm going to try and find her right now."

Sache sighs rubbing her forehead.

"I already know Dorme foolishly let Padawan Skywalker know of her wherabouts. I already told her that was definatly not a good idea."

Sabe rolls her eyes.

"Sache you know that if he didn't take off after her, the Senator would have arrived and left with him anyways. Now we could be continuing this conversation or we could be spending it hunting down Padme and her friend."

Sache folds her arms as she gives a stiff nod.

"Duely noted. Although i'm going to remind you of this the next tim eyou get it in your head to blab to Padme about Padawan Anakin being nearby."

Sabe gives a frustrated sigh and nods too annoyed now to bother explaining she was caught by Anakin thus ruining the chances of keeping PAdmes presence hidden. So without another word she ends the communications as she returns to the living quarters of the room.

"I'm sorry to be so rude Jedi Kenobi, but we really must be going. We're already behind schedule and we've yet to track down the Senator and your Padawan."

She says careful to keep her voice nuetral though inwardly she is seething at the thought of how unprofessional this entire situation is and how terrible it will look if they arrive late to the next meeting.

Saché returned and he couldn't help but overhear their conversation. At Sabé's apology, he felt her embarrassment that this little situation caused her. Obi-Wan felt it was partially his fault for not keeping Anakin under tighter control.

He rose to his feet offering, 'I can find them for you, that is to say, if you wouldn't mind my helping.' After all, it was easy enough for him to reach out with the Force and sense his padawan's location because of their bond.

Sabe bites her lip at his offer to assist them her expression taking on a more obvious embaressed tone as she sighs deeply glancing to her hands.

"I'm sorry to have to do this to you Jedi Kenobi. But your assistance would certainly be an asset in this matter."

She remarks quietly knowing his connection with Anakin would certainly cut back the time having to accept his help for a job she should be competent of doing herself causes her cheeks soon glow in embaressment and shame. Though the other two are less embaressed they too look a bit awkward at having to depend on another to assist in their duties.

Her embarrassment was evident and he sent her assuring emotions. Obi-Wan didn't think of it as a big deal since it wasn't their fault the senator had snuck off.

'I just hope we don't end up walking in on them,' he remarked to Sabé as they headed out of the quarters. He implied much more than he actually said, sighing.

It didn't take much effort to sense his padawan's location. Anakin, the senator's presence is requested. Her handmaidens are anxious.

Anakin.

Anakin!

He was not responding to him.

ANAKIN!

Sabe feels herself calming and soon realizes it is coming from the Jedi Knight himself offering a grateful smile that only he can see as the maidens are behind before they promptly leave to locate the former Queen and Padawan.

At his words Sabe inwardly fumes as she stares ahead biting her tongue so hard to keep from saying something rude about both Padawan and the Senator she fears it may bleed.

"I hope not either...For their sake."

She mutters softly, as Sache casts her a look that seems to match her thoughts, before forcing herself to take on a painfully nuetral look as she follows his lead. Casting him a brief glance she softly asks.

"I don't suppose you've been able to reach him?"

Hopes desperately that they don't walk in on them as she knows if she did SAbe couldn't garentee she would behave in a manner that is professional or befitting of a handmaiden serving her superior.

'Oh, I know where he is,' Obi-Wan replied, with more than a hint of frustration in his voice. He turned to Sabé as he walked. 'They are not far.'

They meandered down the hallway and upon reaching a storage unit, he looked to Saché, about to ask her to open the door.

But at that moment, Anakin stumbled out looking nonplussed.

Obi-Wan noted the state of his padawans clothes as well and resisted the urge to roll his eyes. A storage unit, Anakin?

'Sorry, Master. L-lost track of time,' Anakin replied aloud, readjusting his tunic and belt.

Brow furrowed, Obi-Wan shook his head as he started back for their newly acquired quarters.

She glances to him noting his frustration and instantly feeling shamed by it as though she is responsible for her lady's poor behavior.

"...I'm sorry about all this."

She remarks softly to Obi-Wan her cheeks once more on fire. To which Sache remarks dryly.

"Not as sorry as she will be if we don't make it to this meeting on time."

Dorme casts Sache and Dorme a frown finding it imappropriate that both girls are speaking in such tones about Padme but being the newer of the handmaidens she refrains from a reply. However as they find themselves outside of a storage unit Sabe's eyes widen in horror as she casts a glance to Obi-Wan before whispering in barely audible tones.

"...You can't be ser-"

The thought is cut short as Anakin suddenly emerges from unit causing the handmaidens to step back as Sabe's mouth drops in horror. Suddenly she promptly turns around, back facing to Anakin as she clenches her jaw while her hands begin to clench and unclench as though holding a blade marking her barely controlled fury. Sache on the other hand looks completely mortified and Dorme a little amused.

Padme quietly steps out her cheeks burning red with fire though to Sache and Dorme's relief she appears far more composed then Anakin. Sabe on the other hand will not even look at the Senator or the Padawan as she struggles to regain some semblence of control of her emotions.

That disgusting little brat. At least he could have had the decency to slip into an empty room she fumes inwardly and shame on you Padme if anyone stumbled onto this scene what they would think!!Taking a deep breath she once more envies Obi-Wan's calm as she sighs deeply not daring to look back as she coolly remarks.

"We should be departing as soon as possible. They will be expecting you Senator."

Before moving quickly but not before casting a sneak glance to Obi-Wan when the others are distracted as her eyes are filled with shame and apology as if to say I should have never told her about Anakin's presence.

Anakin frowned and avoided everyone's eyes by bowing his head, following his master. Why won't he just say something? Anything? Anakin thought. Obi-Wan's silence was infuriating sometimes. He would rather his master give him a verbal tongue-lashing. He knew he deserved it for being so reckless. To be honest, being around Padmé, everything else just disappeared. There were no rules, no Codes, no senate, just the two of them.

Obi-Wan missed Sabé's glance as he was trying to keep his composure. He knew Anakin already felt guilty about not keeping track of the time, but that wasn't the issue here. The issue was that their little liason wasn't supposed to happen in the first place and Obi-Wan felt guilty enough as it was for being lenient with his padawan.

Once they were back to the quarters, he thanked Padmé for the use of their quarters and making the arrangements for the switch. Though his eyes were on the senator, the thank-you was more directed to Sabé for it had been her idea in the first place. It was truly a good thing the senator wasn't Force sensative...

Anakin stared at his wife the entire time his master was speaking to her. And once she left with her entourage, he sulked on the couch. Obi-Wan didn't understand him. He didn't know what it was like to be in love. How could he? It wasn't fair. Of course he wanted to be a Jedi, but he wanted Padmé too. And who's to say he couldn't have both? He had assured Padmé they could make it work. He was trying.

Obi-Wan left his apprentice as he put his belongings in one of the adjoining bedchambers. It was hard enough to get used to Anakin being married. It was such a disappointment to him. Hadn't he trained him well enough? The Jedi were supposed to serve everyone except themselves. And here Anakin was thinking only of himself and his own desires. We have to make sacrifices, he thought, for the good of the galaxy, to protect and serve, to promote peace... He was not angry with Anakin, just extremely disappointed. The Jedi Order should come first in Anakin's life, not anything nor anyone else.

At her brief glance Sabe promptly noticed Obi-Wan looked about as tense as she felt which did little to help calm her grated nerves and temper. How is it I can be so calm and the minute that little rodent of a Padawan shows up and I'm about ready to throttle someone? She inwardly grouses as they enter the quarters before once more throwing herself into her work as she patiently but promptly completes the last of the packing. Careful not to let her eyes follow Obi-Wan's voice she focuses on her task with extra furvor lest she glance up and glare viciously at the Padwan who even now had the nerve to continue his gaze on the Senator who from the corner of Sabe's eyes was thankfully shamed enough to keep her attentions on Obi-Wan as the Jedi knight expressed his gratitude.

Although at his words Sabe found herself revealing a hint of a smile as she can't help but feel as though the gratitude was being directed at her. She wants to cast him a glance but continues to refrain until they part ways to which she briefly lets her eyes settle on him once more as she bows hoping somehow in the silent smile he would understand and know she did not blame him for any of this. That she was grateful to know he was above such things.

The brief journey to their ship was thick with tension that only worsened as they departed to their new destination. Padme was in no d to talk and it would seem neither were her handmaidens. Which in truth suited her fine. The entire incident was something she'd rather not experience again anytime soon or better yet in her life time but the past was the past. It shamed her to think she had resorted to such actions. In truth it wasn't the first time she had found herself doing something completly out of her nature when in the young Padawan's presence. The thought always left her confused and more then a little bothered by it. But try as she may Padme could never quite make herself stop, in truth when Anakin was around everything and anything seemed possible. Whether she dared to admit it or not the excitement of being in his fiery presence was always too much to resist and as time went on this feeling seemed to only increase with each passing moment together.

Still she knew the effect it was having on her appearance and after finding herself being under the stony gaze of her principle handmaiden (to which she promptly returned) Padme ultimately realized she had to talk to Sabe whether she liked it or not. If she didn't she knew the tension between them would only build. Sighing deeply she quietly rises from the passenger's seat on the ship as Sache continues to fly immensely relieved that her handmaidens were far too polite and respeeting of her position to discuss the 'incident' openly.

"Sabe a moment if you please..."
