Aené was born stillborn before being carried to term in 17 bby. This was a concequence of her father's use of the dark side. Prior to Aené, the Vaders lost two other children in a similar fashion. Though she returned to the Force, she did not lose her consciousness. Thanks to her grandfather, Qui-Gon Jinn, she was able to retain her memories and familial connections.

Oftentimes, Aené reveals herself to her father, warning him about his use of the dark side and trying to stop him from murdering innocents. She tried to appear to her mother to comfort her over her death. Unfortunately, the dark side overwhelmed her abilities to make contact with her parents.

Many years later, she was able to appear to and speak with her younger brother in an effort to comfort him. She later attempted to appear to Runa, but as Runa has no Force abilities, such things were incredibly difficult.

Though she is not with her family in body, she remains near to them in spirit, more often than not frustrated and trying to mend things. Her impulsive and impatient nature often come in conflict with her grandfather and the will of the Force.
